Doina Levintza, renounced Romanian fasion designer and scene painter is the special guest of the InspiraTIFF sesion, saturday, July 31st. Starting at 5 PM, the audience has the opportunity to talk with her, while the public from all over Romania can watch the interview live on TIFF Unlimited.
Over her incredible career, Doina Levintza participated in over 100 fashion shows in Paris, Monte Carlo, New York, Londra, Madrid, Geneva, Bruxelles, Washington or Chicago, and her creations have been included in many exhibitions and international events.
Her unique creative style created many costumes and scenery elements that were used for some of the most successful productions in Romania such as: Dincolo de nisipuri (r. Radu Gabrea, 1974), Eu, tu și … Ovidiu (r. Geo Saizescu, 1977), Profetul, aurul şi ardelenii (r. Dan Pița, 1978), Nea Mărin Miliardar (r. Sergiu Nicolaescu, 1978), Ultima noapte de dragoste (r. Sergiu Nicolaescu, 1980), De ce trag clopotele, Mitică? (r. Lucian Pintilie, 1981), Faleze de nisip (r. Dan Pița, 1983), Orient Express (r. Sergiu Nicolaescu, 2004), Restul e tăcere (r. Nae Caranfil, 2008), Sunt o babă comunistă (r. Stere Gulea, 2013), Closer to the Moon (r. Nae Caranfil, 2014), 6,9 pe scara Richter (r. Nae Caranfil, 2016) or Oh, Ramona! (r. Cristina Jacob, 2019).
Since 2010, Doina Levintza in the official distributor for the Royal House of Romania. In 2021 she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Gopo Awards.
